Every sword in the family uses the same blade shape with a different texture and color, and each one throws off sparkles while you hold it. Roblox built all nine, which makes them Classic Limiteds (Roblox-created) rather than UGC Limiteds (community-created).
Two things make the line unusual. First, it is gear. Gear is the category of usable in-experience items like weapons and vehicles, and Roblox's own support documentation notes that most experiences do not allow it. Almost every famous Roblox Limited is a hat or a face, so a gear line with real value is already a small club. How did the series start? A free Builders Club gift that went Limited in 2013
The Spec Alpha Biograft Energy Sword came out in June 2009 as a green blade with a joke description about biografting to your character and wrecking anyone who gets close. According to the Roblox Wiki, it was handed out inside the Bombastic Gift of Builders Club, which meant anyone holding a Builders Club membership at the time got one for free, and nobody else could get one at all. Roblox turned it Limited on May 31, 2013.
That history explains its price. 25,330 copies is an enormous print for a 2009 item (a print is simply how many copies exist), so the Alpha trades at 6,006 RAP with a lowest ask of 5,600 Robux. Which Biograft Energy Sword is the rarest? Spec Epsilon, at 90 copies
The Spec Epsilon Biograft Energy Sword arrived in March 2010 at 5,000 Robux, and RBX Invest tracks 90 copies today. That is the smallest print in the family and one of the smaller prints anywhere in classic gear. The Roblox Wiki records the original stock as 100, and a gap like that is normal for an item this old: copies vanish permanently when accounts are deleted, and they never come back.
Its description is one of the funniest Roblox ever wrote, about incorporeal cloud people selling harmless replica swords in museum gift shops, and it is the only sword in the line with two colors instead of one.
Trader consensus puts the Epsilon at the top of the series by street value, which is what people actually pay. Its RAP is 136,693, sixth-highest of the nine, and the cheapest copy listed on the marketplace is 2,998,989 Robux. That gap is the whole story of this item.
Spec Beta: the 10,000 Robux sword almost nobody bought
The Spec Beta went on sale in August 2009 at 10,000 Robux, a fortune at the time. The Roblox Wiki records that it stopped selling that October and that the high price is why so few moved. It sat in players' inventories for five more years before Roblox made it Limited during the Labor Day 2014 sale.

Why doesn't RAP match what these swords actually sell for?
Sort the table by RAP and you get a completely different order. The Red Energy Sword leads at 246,171, the Omega is second at 208,890, and the Epsilon sits sixth. Sort by what traders will actually pay and the Epsilon and Beta are in a tier of their own, with everything else far below.
The reason is thin markets. RAP only moves when a sale happens, and each sale drags it just one tenth of the way toward the new price. On an item with 90 copies where maybe a handful trade in a year, RAP is a fossil. The Epsilon's 136,693 RAP is what copies cost the last few times anyone was willing to let one go.
The asking prices tell you more. When the cheapest listed Epsilon is 2,998,989 Robux and the cheapest listed Beta is 1,088,888, the holders are telling you where they value the item. That is why buying either one at "RAP plus a bit" is a fantasy. Nobody is selling there.
The Spec Chi shows the same effect at a smaller scale. Its RAP is the second-lowest of the eight scarce swords at 97,522, yet the cheapest copy on the market is 399,998 Robux. Two hundred copies of a 2013 Christmas gear item do not turn over often.
What drives the Biograft premium? Scarcity, serials, and a fixed supply
Three things hold this family up.
Print size. The four smallest prints in the line, the Epsilon at 90, the Beta at 105, the Zeta at 199 and the Chi at 200, are the four that hold the widest gap between RAP and asking price. Serial numbers. The scarce members are LimitedU items, so every copy carries a serial. Low serials and clean number patterns pull extra money from collectors, and that demand does not show up in RAP at all.
Supply that only shrinks. Roblox will not mint more of these, and copies leave circulation when accounts are deleted. A 2010 gear Limited with 90 copies is not going to get more common.
Working against all of that: gear is a niche. The buyer pool for a 3 million Robux sword is small and stays small, and thin markets cut both ways.
What about the odd ones out: the Red Energy Sword and Dual Spec Gamma?
The Red Energy Sword is the only member that ignores the Greek naming, and its description frames it as a knockoff built by a rival, so the break looks deliberate. It launched in December 2011 at 5,000 Robux with 245 copies, and it carries the highest RAP in the family at 246,171. Consensus value puts it third, so this is one case where RAP runs ahead of the pack rather than behind it.
The Dual Spec Gamma Biograft Energy Sword is the outlier at the other end. Released in December 2015 as a dual-wield version of the Gamma, it was on sale for roughly a day and now sits at 1,128 copies, by far the largest print of the scarce group. It went Limited during the Memorial Day 2016 sale. At 78,284 RAP with copies listed as low as 65,000 Robux, it is the only member besides the Alpha that a mid-sized portfolio can realistically buy, and the only scarce one that trades often enough for its price to mean much.
Collector's outlook: what to watch on the Biograft line
If you want exposure to this family, be honest about which market you are in. The Alpha and the Dual Gamma are liquid. They sell, RAP means something on both, and you can check current spreads any day on the items leaderboard or catch under-RAP listings in the Deals feed, which needs a signed-in account. The Epsilon, Beta, Zeta and Chi are the opposite: months can pass with no sale, and you are negotiating with a small group of holders who know exactly what they have.
Reselling math matters here because the numbers are large. On a Classic Limited resale, Roblox takes a 30% marketplace fee and the seller keeps 70%, so a copy bought at 100,000 Robux has to sell for about 143,000 just to break even. On a six-figure sword that spread is brutal, which is one more reason the scarce members change hands through trades rather than marketplace sales.
Trading them has its own requirements. Classic Limiteds are tradeable, but both sides need an active Roblox Plus subscription, and after buying a resale copy there is a 7-day holding period before you can list it again. A copy received in a trade is locked for 2 days.
