Free Roblox Limiteds are real, and there are nearly four of them for every paid one. Of the 187,878 UGC Limiteds in the RBX Invest catalog, 148,024 carry a price of 0 Robux, and Roblox's own item records confirm those zeros. A UGC Limited is a limited-supply avatar item made by an independent creator, and free means the creator set the launch price to nothing, so the first person to claim a copy pays nothing. Almost none are worth anything afterwards: 95,867 of those free items have never recorded a single resale, and only 64 have a RAP above 10,000 Robux. RAP is short for Recent Average Price, Roblox's smoothed running average of an item's sale prices.
Quick answer: Yes, free Roblox Limiteds exist, and they make up about 79% of the UGC Limited market. Most are claimed inside a specific experience, roughly two thirds never resell for anything, and the rare winner like Lucid's Federation of Eternal Wealth reaches a 71,680 RAP.

Are free Roblox Limiteds real? Yes, and Roblox's own rules name them
The phrase is Roblox's own. Roblox's marketplace documentation, on the page covering publishing to the Marketplace, explains the quantity a creator picks when publishing a Limited: "The maximum quantity for paid Limiteds is 3000, while free Limiteds do not have a quantity maximum."
A Limited is an item with a fixed supply that players resell to each other. A classic Limited is one Roblox made itself, and classic Limiteds can be traded player to player as well as resold. A UGC Limited comes from an independent creator, and Roblox's documentation states that only Roblox-created Limiteds are tradeable, so a UGC item changes hands through a Marketplace resale or not at all. If that split is new to you, start with our classic versus UGC Limiteds guide.
Free releases are most of this market. Paid UGC Limiteds number 38,346 in our catalog against 148,024 free ones, so when someone says the UGC Limited market has flooded, this is most of the flood.
Where do you get a free Roblox Limited? Inside an experience, nearly always
Of the 14,001 free Limiteds with copies still unclaimed in our catalog, 13,993 can only be obtained inside a specific experience. Roblox's publishing documentation calls that setting "Experience By Place ID (API Only)" and describes it in one line: "Users can only purchase the original stock of this item in the games associated with the provided Place ID."
So opening the item's catalog page and looking for a Get button will not work. You have to join the experience the creator tied the item to and claim it there, usually from a shop counter, a quest reward, or the in-game avatar menu. Creators generally say where. Blue Messy Boy Hair, a 100-copy free Limited published in February 2025, puts a link to the experience directly in its own item description. 96 of its 100 copies are still sitting unclaimed.
There is a business reason creators do this. When a purchase happens inside an experience, part of the sale goes to the experience owner as an affiliate share, and Roblox's fee documentation puts that share at 40% on a first-hand sale. On a free item, 40% of nothing is nothing, so what the creator and the game owner are actually buying is footfall. The item is bait, and the players who show up to claim it are the point.
Why are there so many free Limiteds? Because they have no supply cap
Paid Limiteds stop at 3,000 copies. Free ones have no ceiling at all, and 3,908 free Limiteds in our catalog were published with a supply above 3,000. The biggest is Catalog Avatar Creator: Mascot [Left Shoulder] from July 2023, published with 2,345,678 copies. More than 2.34 million of them have never been claimed.
At that supply the word Limited stops meaning anything useful. The mascot's RAP is 278 Robux and the cheapest live listing is 455, which is roughly what an ordinary catalog accessory costs. Scarcity comes from the copy count, a point our guide to what makes a Roblox Limited rare works through in detail.
Are free Roblox Limiteds worth anything? Usually nothing at all
Here are the honest numbers from our catalog, as of September 2026. Out of 148,024 free UGC Limiteds:
- 95,867 have never recorded a resale, so their price history is blank.
- 34,823 have a RAP of at least 100 Robux, which is about the price of a cheap catalog hat.
- 5,731 have a RAP of at least 1,000 Robux.
- 64 have a RAP of at least 10,000 Robux.
That last line is the one to sit with. Fewer than one free Limited in two thousand ever reaches five figures. The median free Limited was published with just 5 copies, which sounds impossibly rare until you notice that low supply on an item nobody wants produces a price of zero. Plenty of these five-copy items exist purely so a creator's name shows up in catalog search.
One more trap. About 55,014 free Limiteds have at least one live resale listing, and beginners read a listing as a value. A listing is an asking price that nobody has agreed to pay, and some of the listings on free items are jokes: Blue Messy Boy Hair has 96 unclaimed copies and a 200,000 Robux ask sitting on it at the same time. We wrote about that habit in why Roblox Limiteds get listed for billions. Judge a free item by its RAP and by whether copies actually move.
Which free Roblox Limiteds are worth the most?
The table below shows the ten most valuable free-to-claim UGC Limiteds in our catalog with a supply of 50 copies or more, ordered by RAP. Copies is the total supply, and lowest ask is the cheapest copy anyone currently has listed, which traders call the floor. All figures are RBX Invest catalog data as of September 2026.
| Item | Published | Copies | RAP | Lowest ask |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Oct 2023 | 2,525 | 71,680 | 30,000 | |
| Sep 2023 | 50 | 25,795 | 8,000 | |
| Dec 2023 | 50 | 24,928 | 48,959 | |
| Oct 2023 | 50 | 22,984 | 31,313 | |
| Feb 2024 | 350 | 18,508 | 78,000 | |
| Feb 2024 | 51 | 17,398 | 51,500 | |
| Aug 2023 | 3,000 | 16,461 | 17,000 | |
| Sep 2023 | 60 | 15,872 | 15,000 | |
| May 2025 | 100 | 14,671 | 49,999 | |
| Nov 2023 | 208 | 13,535 | 99,999 |
Two patterns run through that list. Seven of the ten came out in the second half of 2023, the stretch right after UGC Limiteds launched in April 2023, when free drops were novel and a few hundred people racing for 50 copies was a real event. And two of them came from the GUCCI group, whose Roblox catalog gets the full treatment in our history of Gucci's Roblox items. A name people already recognize from outside Roblox does more for a free item's resale price than a good mesh does.
Lucid's Federation of Eternal Wealth is the outlier at the top, and it is worth understanding why. It went out in October 2023 with 2,525 copies at no cost, all of them long gone, and it now holds a 71,680 RAP with a 30,000 Robux floor. It is a hat named after the Roblox-made Federation series, a line classic collectors already know, and it came from an established creator group at a moment when free drops still drew crowds. Familiar design, real distribution, and a fixed supply that will never grow. Almost nothing published since has all three.
Can you sell a free Roblox Limited? Yes, with Roblox Plus and after the hold
Three rules decide whether a free item can turn into Robux.
You need Roblox Plus to sell. Reselling a Limited requires an active Roblox Plus subscription on the seller's account, which costs $4.99 USD a month. The person buying from you needs no subscription. If you are weighing that cost, we went through it in is Roblox Plus worth it for traders.
You have to wait out the holding period. Claiming a copy from the creator's original stock counts as a first-hand purchase, and Roblox's marketplace documentation puts the wait at up to 30 days before you can resell. Buying a copy from another player instead shortens the wait to up to 7 days. Our holding periods guide covers the corner cases.
You keep half. Roblox's fee documentation splits a UGC Limited resale four ways: 50% to the reseller, 10% to the creator, 10% to the seller or affiliate, and 30% to Roblox. Sell a free item for 2,000 Robux and 1,000 lands in your account.
That last rule is normally brutal, because a paid item has to double in price before a reseller breaks even. On an item that cost you nothing, there is no break-even to reach, and half of any sale is profit. The catch is the subscription. At $4.99 a month you are carrying a real cost against items that mostly sell for nothing, so free Limited claiming pays for itself only if you are already subscribed for trading. None of this is financial advice, and a free item's price can go to zero and stay there.
How to claim free Limiteds without wasting an afternoon
Claiming costs no Robux, so the thing you are actually spending is time. A short filter keeps that spend sane.
- Check the supply first. Under a few hundred copies, a free item has at least a chance. Above ten thousand, it will trade near zero forever. Our in-stock UGC Limiteds collection ranks what is still claimable with supply alongside.
- Look at who made it. An established creator or a brand collaboration has an audience that will still care in a year. An account with one item and no following does not.
- Check the RAP before you go hunting. If similar items from the same creator sit at a blank price history, this one will too.
- Confirm the item is genuine. Copycats name their items after famous ones and hope you click fast. Our guide to fake Limiteds and name-squatting shows the tells.
- Diary the hold. Mark the date 30 days out, because a claim you forget about is worth the same as one you never made.
- Watch what actually sells. The items leaderboard and the Deals feed, which needs a signed-in account, show real movement.
What free Limited scams look like
Free items attract scams because free lowers your guard, and the patterns repeat.
No genuine free Limited asks you to log in anywhere except roblox.com, and no genuine one needs your password, your one-time code, or a browser extension. Sites promising a free Limited generator are stealing accounts, full stop. Nobody can gift you a UGC Limited either, because UGC Limiteds cannot be traded at all, so a stranger offering to trade you one is either confused or working an angle. Trading exists only for classic Limiteds, and it needs an active Roblox Plus subscription on both accounts. Our trading scams guide has the longer list.
Are free Limiteds worth collecting at all?
For a trader building a portfolio, free Limiteds are lottery tickets you pay for in time. Claiming a few from creators you already follow costs almost nothing and occasionally lands something real. Grinding hundreds of experiences for five-copy items nobody has heard of just fills an inventory.
For the same low-cost entry with an actual market attached, the Limiteds under 100 Robux collection lists items that already have buyers, and which UGC Limiteds to buy for reselling covers what a paid drop needs before it is worth your Robux.
Supply, RAP, lowest asks and the catalog counts in this article come from RBX Invest catalog data as of September 2026, cross-checked against Roblox's own public item records; the quantity rules, the experience-only sale setting, the resale and affiliate splits and the holding period come from Roblox's marketplace documentation at create.roblox.com/docs/marketplace.
FAQ
Are free Roblox Limiteds real?
Yes. Creators can publish a UGC Limited at a price of 0 Robux, and Roblox's marketplace documentation refers to them directly, noting that "free Limiteds do not have a quantity maximum" while paid ones cap at 3,000 copies. In the RBX Invest catalog, 148,024 of 187,878 UGC Limiteds carry a 0 Robux price.
How do you get a free Roblox Limited?
You almost always claim it inside a specific experience. Of the 14,001 free Limiteds with copies unclaimed in our catalog, 13,993 use Roblox's experience-only sale setting, which restricts the original stock to the games the creator listed. Join that experience and claim the item from its shop, quest reward, or avatar menu.
Are free Roblox Limiteds worth anything?
Almost never. Of 148,024 free UGC Limiteds, 95,867 have never recorded a resale, 5,731 have a RAP of at least 1,000 Robux, and just 64 have a RAP of at least 10,000. The most valuable is Lucid's Federation of Eternal Wealth at a 71,680 RAP with a 30,000 Robux floor.
Can you resell a free Limited for Robux?
Yes, if you hold an active Roblox Plus subscription and the holding period has passed. Claiming from the creator's original stock counts as a first-hand purchase, so Roblox's documentation puts the wait at up to 30 days. On the sale you keep 50% of the price, with 10% to the creator, 10% to the seller or affiliate, and 30% to Roblox.
Why do creators give Limiteds away for free?
Because free items pull players into an experience. When someone claims an item inside a game, part of a first-hand sale goes to the experience owner as a 40% affiliate share, and giving the item away turns that mechanic into a traffic tool. Free Limiteds also skip the 3,000-copy cap that applies to paid ones.
How many copies can a free Roblox Limited have?
There is no maximum. Roblox caps paid Limiteds at 3,000 copies but places no limit on free ones, and 3,908 free Limiteds in our catalog were published above 3,000. The largest, Catalog Avatar Creator: Mascot [Left Shoulder], was published with 2,345,678 copies, of which more than 2.34 million are still unclaimed.
Can you trade a free UGC Limited?
No. Roblox's marketplace documentation states that only Roblox-created Limiteds are tradeable, so UGC Limiteds move only through Marketplace resales regardless of what they cost at launch. Anyone offering to trade you a UGC Limited is mistaken or attempting a scam.
Is a free Limited with only 5 copies rare and valuable?
Rare, yes. Valuable, usually not. The median free UGC Limited was published with 5 copies, and tiny supply on an item nobody is looking for produces no price at all. Value needs demand alongside scarcity, so check whether copies actually sell before treating a low copy count as a win.
