Roblox's pirate items are a scattered family of classic Limiteds, and the rarest of them is Pirate Vision, a 500 Robux face accessory from January 2011 with 190 copies left and a 48,229 RAP. A Limited is an item Roblox stopped selling, with a fixed supply that players resell and trade among themselves, and RAP stands for Recent Average Price, Roblox's smoothed running average of an item's sale prices. Fifteen pirate-themed classic Limiteds exist, running from the 2008 Black Tricorne through to a 2017 eyepatch that never sold out, and they change hands anywhere from about 750 Robux to six figures.

What counts as a Roblox pirate Limited? Fifteen items and no official series

Roblox never published a "Pirate series" the way it published the Dominus line or a texture family like Bluesteel. What exists is a running joke the company came back to for nine years: eyepatches, tricorn hats, and a few pirate mashups with Santa, an elf and a chicken. Our catalog holds 25 Roblox-made items with "Pirate" in the name, and fifteen of them are classic Limiteds with a resale market.

Classic means Roblox made the item itself, and classic Limiteds can be traded player to player as well as resold. Traders price Pirate Vision far above its 48,229 RAP, much closer to the six-figure listings, because RAP is smoothed across every sale an item has ever had. Pirate Vision: the 190-copy face that asks four times its RAP

Roblox published this one in January 2011 at 500 Robux as a Limited Unique. Community item records put the original run at 200 copies, and our catalog counts 190 today, so ten have been lost to terminated accounts in fifteen years. A copy count only ever falls: when Roblox terminates an account, the Limiteds inside stop circulating for good.

The description is pure 2011 Roblox: "Arrrgh matey...I be seein' terrible pirate things....things no landlubber should ere see." Community records describe the mesh as a retexture of the Steampunk shades line with a barnacle finish and a skull-and-swords motif, which is why it reads as goggles.

At 190 copies it is the only item in this family in gem territory, a gem being a genuinely scarce Limited that trades well into the tens or hundreds of thousands. Its 190,000 floor is roughly four times its RAP, and that spread is the most useful thing on this page. Sub-200-copy items almost never have a cheap listing sitting around; whoever holds one is patient, and the ask is the price. Pirate Luv: 582 copies and the family's biggest fan club

Published in February 2011 at 300 Robux, a month after Pirate Vision, also as a Limited Unique. Community records put the run at 600; our catalog counts 582. Its description is the best line in the family: "The sea be my only true love."

It carries 10,702 favorites, second only to the Neon Pink Pirate Patch and more than four times what Pirate Vision has. Favorites are a rough read on how many players want an item, whether or not they can afford it, so a 582-copy face with ten thousand admirers has a deeper bench of buyers than the copy count alone suggests. Its 100,000 floor against a 43,643 RAP tells the same story Pirate Vision's does: thin supply, patient holders, a lagging average. Black Tricorne: the 2008 hat that waited 14 years to become a Limited

Roblox published the Black Tricorne on November 26, 2008 at 200 Robux, and its description is a joke about being sold at Thanksgiving: "This hat is an anachronism, and has nothing to do with Thanksgiving. But when the revolution calls..."

Then it sat. Roblox took it offsale, meaning the company stopped selling it, and because it was not a Limited nobody could resell it either. It was frozen inside inventories for the better part of fourteen years. Community records date its conversion to Limited status to January 9, 2023, with 5,051 copies sold before the switch. That kind of late conversion is the one event that turns a dead catalog hat into a tradeable asset overnight, and the mechanics are worth knowing, since nobody outside Roblox can tell which item gets picked next. The other tricorn worth knowing is the Founding Fathers' Tricorn from August 2012, a 1,088-copy hat at a 14,246 RAP. It is a colonial hat that belongs with the Roblox patriot items, but it is why a search for "roblox tricorn" turns up a hat five times the price of the Black Tricorne.

Dangerous Eye Patch: what happens when a Limited doesn't sell out

This is the cautionary tale of the family. Roblox published the Dangerous Eye Patch on October 19, 2017 at 250 Robux as a Limited Unique with a stock of 100,000 copies on a three-day timer. Community records say fewer than a third sold before the clock ran out. Our catalog counts 32,212 copies today, at a 753 RAP with a 760 floor.

So a Limited that launched at 250 Robux is worth about three times that nine years later, which sounds fine until you set it beside the 190-copy Pirate Vision. Scarcity comes from how many copies exist, and 32,212 is not scarce. An item priced this close to its RAP with this much supply behaves like an ordinary catalog hat that happens to be resellable.

Its one claim to fame is odd: community records note it has been used as a stand-in image for some deleted Roblox items, which is why players sometimes see this eyepatch where an item they remember used to be.

Pirate Chicken and the gift-card pirates

The Pirate Chicken took the longest road to Limited status of anything here. Community records say it started as a gift-card exclusive, obtainable in February 2014 by redeeming a $25 Roblox card from Walmart, and was picked up 2,364 times that way. It came back for a 24-hour sale at 300 Robux in May 2016 and sold a few hundred more. It became a Limited in 2022, and the total obtained across both routes, 2,762, matches our copy count exactly. One caveat specific to this hat: community records note that a product ID change in January 2025 reset its RAP to zero, so the 2,207 RAP you see today was rebuilt from scratch since. Lean on the 2,150 floor instead.

Two December 2009 hats round out the strange end of the family. Pirate Santa is a tricorn with Santa's trim, sold at 100 Robux as a Limited Unique, now 2,362 copies at a 3,104 RAP. Pirate Elf came out the same day at 50 Robux, stayed an ordinary hat for thirteen years, then was converted to a Limited in December 2022 with 5,131 copies sold. Same theme, same day, and a 1,500 Robux gap between them today, entirely because one had serials and half the supply.

Which Roblox pirate items are not Limiteds? The 100 Robux Eyepatch and three event hats

The plain Eyepatch is the most popular pirate item Roblox ever made and it is not a Limited at all. Published in March 2012 at 100 Robux, it is still on sale today at that price, and it carries 160,330 favorites, which is more than every Limited on this page combined and then some. Supply is unlimited, so it is worth exactly its sticker price and it always will be. Buying one expecting it to gain value is the most common mistake in this whole category.

Three more Roblox pirate items are offsale without ever having been Limiteds, so they have no resale market and no copy count:

• Pirate Flag Fedora, a 2019 gift-card exclusive from W. H. Smith in the UK.
• Ghostly Tricorn Hat, a free October 2017 hat tied to a Hallow's Eve game.
• The High Seas: Beatrix The Pirate Queen, a free October 2018 event hat.

Any of the three could be converted to Limited status later, the way the Black Tricorne and Pirate Elf were. Nobody can predict which, and none of them can be bought or sold today.

Are UGC pirate items part of the family? No, and you can't trade them

UGC stands for user-generated content, meaning items made by independent creators. Since UGC Limiteds launched in April 2023, creators have flooded the theme: our catalog tracks 207 UGC Limiteds with "Pirate" in the name against 25 Roblox-made pirate items, and 71 of those UGC items have five copies or fewer, most of them free single-copy pieces made to be found in search.

One difference outweighs the styling: UGC Limiteds cannot be traded. Roblox's marketplace documentation is explicit that only Roblox-created Limiteds are tradeable, so a UGC pirate hat changes hands through a Marketplace resale or not at all. The economics differ too. Reselling a UGC Limited pays the reseller 50% of the sale price against 70% on a classic, so a UGC flip has to double in price before you break even. The priciest UGC pirate item in our catalog, a 5,000-copy piece called Pirate Body Pillow, launched at 3,000 Robux and carries a 2,532 RAP today, still under what buyers paid at release.

What drives value in the pirate family? Copies first, then the face slot

Supply decides the ends. The 190-copy item leads the family and the 32,212-copy item sits last, exactly as you would expect. In the middle, copy count stops being precise: the 2,000-copy Steampunk Tricorn beats the 1,200-copy Rusted Steampunk Pirate, and the 4,843-copy Black Tricorne beats the 2,762-copy Pirate Chicken. There is no age premium hiding in here either, since the 2008 Black Tricorne ranks tenth of fifteen.

Face accessories run hotter than hats. Three of the four most expensive items are face accessories, and so are the two biggest favorite counts in the family. A face is visible in every screenshot and every thumbnail in a way a hat competing with hair is not, and Roblox printed fewer of them.

Serial numbers track the gap. Nine of the fifteen were Limited Unique, including three of the four priciest. That mostly reflects Roblox capping those runs deliberately, while the plain Limiteds were converted years later at whatever quantity had already been sold.

Only three items here are properly scarce. Pirate Vision, Platinum Pirate Headphones and Pirate Luv are the only ones under 1,000 copies, and eleven of the fifteen sit inside Limiteds under 10,000 Robux. If you are shopping for something that might multiply, this is a narrow aisle.

Collector's outlook: one real gem and a long cheap tail

Pirate Vision is the one worth thinking hard about. It is genuinely scarce, it holds a six-figure ask, and its RAP is stale enough that the number on a leaderboard understates it. That also makes it hard to buy well: no cheap listing is waiting for you, and a bad entry price on a 190-copy item takes years to work off.

Pirate Luv is the more interesting bet a tier down: ten thousand favorites on 582 copies is real demand, and it is the item most likely to catch a bid when the theme comes back around.

Below that, the family is quiet and honest. Steampunk Pirate Captain and Futurevision Eye Patch are 1,000-copy items sitting near their RAP, which is what a fairly priced Limited looks like. The Black Tricorne is a real 2008 hat for around 3,200 Robux, striking value next to what a famous classic hat costs. The Dangerous Eye Patch and Noob Attack: Pirate Peril are the cheap seats, best treated as costume.

One note on flipping, meaning buying a copy to resell it. Reselling a classic Limited costs 30% to Roblox, so you keep 70%, and a copy has to sell for about 1.43 times what you paid before you have made a single Robux. On a 3,200 Robux tricorn that is a 4,600 Robux sale just to break even. You also need an active Roblox Plus subscription to resell or trade at all, and Roblox's marketplace documentation puts the hold after buying a Limited at up to 30 days, which for a classic Limited bought on resale works out to 7 days before you can list it again, and 2 days after receiving one in a trade.
