The Musica Dominator series is a family of four winged headphone hats that Roblox made itself between 2013 and 2017. Three of them are Limiteds, which means only a fixed number of copies exist and Roblox no longer issues them, so the only way to get one now is to buy it from another player. The Musica Dominator came first in July 2013 at 10,000 Robux with 300 copies, and it still leads the family on price. The fourth member, the Musica Messor Dominator, never became a Limited at all.
Quick answer: The Musica Dominator series has four Roblox-made hats. The Musica Dominator (300 copies), Musica Infernus Dominator (761 copies) and Musica Frigidus Dominator (370 copies) are Limiteds you can still buy on resale, and the Musica Messor Dominator is an offsale item that cannot be resold.

What is the Musica Dominator series? Roblox's music-themed Dominus lookalikes
Every hat in this family is built on the same idea: the wide, swept-back silhouette of a Dominus crossed with a pair of headphones. The name is the giveaway. "Musica" is Latin for music, and "Dominator" borrows from Roblox's most famous hat line.
Roblox leaned into the Latin on the item pages too. The Musica Dominator's description reads "Verbis defectis musica incipit," which translates roughly to "where words fail, music begins." The Infernus version carries "Musica delenit bestiam feram," or "music soothes the savage beast."
If you're new to this corner of the market, two terms matter. RAP stands for Recent Average Price, a smoothed average of an item's whole sale history that Roblox and tracking sites use as a rough value marker. A Limited U is a Limited where every copy carries its own serial number, so copy #1 of 300 is a different object from copy #300. The original Musica Dominator is a Limited U. Its two Limited siblings are plain Limiteds with no serials.
The family sits in the same neighborhood as the rest of Roblox's headphone Limiteds, and all three Limited members are classic hats, published by Roblox itself.
Which Musica Dominators are Limiteds? Three of the four
The table below is ordered by consensus street value, meaning what traders actually pay. RAP order would put the Infernus second. Copy counts, RAP and the lowest live ask (the cheapest price anyone is currently asking for a copy) come from RBX Invest catalog data as of October 2026.
| Item | Released | Original price | Copies | RAP | Lowest ask |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| July 2013 | 10,000 R$ | 300 | 124,128 R$ | 449,998 R$ | |
| February 2016 | 10,000 R$ | 370 | 70,484 R$ | 179,999 R$ | |
| December 2013 | Free, from a gift box | 761 | 71,987 R$ | 89,997 R$ | |
| Musica Messor Dominator | May 2017 | Community records say 10,000 R$ | Not a Limited | None | Not resellable |
All three Limiteds are Roblox-created, so they can be traded player to player as well as resold. Trading needs an active Roblox Plus subscription, the paid plan that unlocks trading and reselling, on both accounts. Reselling needs Roblox Plus on the seller's side, and the buyer needs nothing.
The original: Musica Dominator, July 2013
Roblox published the Musica Dominator in July 2013 at 10,000 Robux and capped it at 300 serialized copies. That price was steep for 2013, and the cap was tight, which is why it still outruns the rest of the family by a wide margin. Its lowest ask today sits at 449,998 Robux against a RAP of 124,128, so sellers are asking about 3.6 times the RAP figure.
That gap is normal for a thin market. With 300 copies in existence and only a handful listed at any moment, the last few recorded sales drag RAP along slowly while the people holding copies price for the buyer who really wants one. Our guide on why Limited prices sit above RAP walks through the pattern across the whole catalog.
The gift one: Musica Infernus Dominator, December 2013
This one came free. It arrived inside the Sound as a Bell Gift during Roblox's December 2013 gift event, and Roblox's own item description spells out the requirement: the gift went to users who uploaded at least five sounds before 11:59 Central on December 11th, 2013. When the gift box opened, the hat appeared in the owner's inventory.
That delivery method explains the copy count. 761 copies exist, more than double the original's 300, because the bar was an upload count, while the original's bar was a 10,000 Robux price tag. More copies means more supply, and its lowest ask of 89,997 Robux is the cheapest entry into the family. If gift-box history interests you, we covered Roblox's mystery gift boxes separately.
The 2016 recolor: Musica Frigidus Dominator
Roblox returned to the mold in February 2016 with an icy recolor, again at 10,000 Robux, this time with 370 copies. It reused the original's Latin motto word for word.
Why does the Frigidus ask twice what the Infernus does?
Their RAPs are almost identical. The Infernus reads 71,987 and the Frigidus reads 70,484, a difference of about 1,500 Robux. Their live asking prices tell a different story: 89,997 against 179,999.
Copy counts explain most of it. 370 copies against 761 is roughly half the supply, and on items this thin the supply number moves price more than the RAP figure does. RAP is a smoothed average over an item's entire sale history, so an item that trades a few times a year updates its RAP slowly and can sit well below what a seller will accept today. When value rank and RAP rank disagree on a family like this one, the copy count is usually the tiebreaker that matters.
Traders price the Frigidus as the second piece in the line for that reason, even though RAP alone would put the Infernus ahead by a nose.
Is the Musica Messor Dominator a Limited? No, and that's why it has no price
The last member arrived in May 2017 and then stopped short of becoming a collectible. Roblox's item record shows it as offsale, meaning Roblox stopped selling it, with no Limited flag and no resale price, so owners cannot list it and there's no market to track. Community records put its run at 10,000 Robux with around 600 purchases, which we can't confirm from Roblox's own data.
Items like this occasionally get converted, and Roblox has flipped offsale items into Limiteds before. Our explainer on offsale items going Limited covers how that works and what it does to the holders.
How does a Musica Dominator compare to a real Dominus?
The naming invites the comparison, and the prices settle it. Dominus Frigidus carries a RAP of 28,059,680 across 27 copies. Dominus Infernus sits at 1,973,087 with 27 copies, and Dominus Messor at 4,409,351 with 266 copies.
So a Musica Frigidus asks around 180,000 Robux while the Dominus that shares its name trades in the tens of millions. Three things drive that distance: the Dominus line has far fewer copies per variant, it carries years of status weight in Roblox's trading culture, and it's the shape everyone recognizes on sight. The Musica hats borrowed the silhouette and the naming convention, and their copy counts run far higher.
For a lot of traders that makes the Musica line the practical option. You get obvious Dominus styling and a 2013 release date for a fraction of the cost. The full story of the parent family is in our Dominus series history.
What drives the Musica premium?
Four things hold this family up.
Age does a lot of the work. A July 2013 release puts the original among Roblox's older paid Limiteds, and old classics hold attention from collectors who care about release dates.
Copy counts stay low. 300, 370 and 761 are all small enough to sit inside our Limiteds under 1,000 copies collection, and supply that thin keeps asks firm.
Roblox made them. Plenty of collectors only buy items Roblox published, and Roblox's documentation states that only Roblox-created Limiteds are tradeable. Our catalog holds 12 UGC Limiteds, meaning Limiteds that players create and publish themselves, with "Musica" and "Dominator" in the name, running from 1 to 26 copies each. Those homages change hands through Marketplace resales alone.
The headphone-plus-Dominus look still reads well on an avatar, which matters more than people admit. Items that look good get worn, and items that get worn get asked about.
Is a Musica Dominator worth buying? A collector's outlook
The honest read is that this is a quiet family. Three Limiteds, 1,431 copies between them, and asks above RAP on all three. That cuts both ways. Thin supply holds asks up, and thin demand means you may wait a long time to sell at the price you want.
If you're buying, the Infernus at around 90,000 Robux is the cheapest way into the line and the easiest to resell later because it has the most copies circulating. The original Musica Dominator is the piece with the most upside and the least liquidity, and at roughly 3.6 times its RAP you're paying for scarcity and serials, with the RAP figure lagging well behind. Check the live floor on the items leaderboard before you commit to any of them, since one new listing can reset the whole picture on an item with this little volume.
Remember the holding periods. After you buy a classic Limited on resale, it's locked for 7 days before you can list it again, and a traded one is locked for 2 days. Our holding periods guide has the detail. When you do sell, Roblox takes 30% of a classic Limited resale and you keep 70%, so you need roughly 1.43 times your purchase price to break even. The Reseller terminal tracks where your listing sits in the queue, and Deals flags items listed under their usual floor if you're signed in.
None of this is financial advice. Limited prices move on the decisions of a small number of holders, and a quiet item can stay quiet for years.

FAQ
What is the Musica Dominator series?
The Musica Dominator series is a family of four winged headphone hats created by Roblox between July 2013 and May 2017. The design combines the swept-back shape of a Dominus with headphones, and "Musica" is Latin for music.
How many Musica Dominators are there?
There are four: the Musica Dominator, the Musica Infernus Dominator, the Musica Frigidus Dominator and the Musica Messor Dominator. The first three are Limiteds with 300, 761 and 370 copies. The Messor is an offsale item that never became a Limited.
How much does a Musica Dominator cost?
As of October 2026 the lowest ask on the original Musica Dominator is 449,998 Robux, the Musica Frigidus Dominator asks 179,999 Robux, and the Musica Infernus Dominator is the cheapest at 89,997 Robux. The Musica Messor Dominator has no resale price because Roblox never gave it Limited status.
Is the Musica Dominator a Dominus?
No. It borrows the Dominus silhouette and the Latin naming style, but it's a separate item line. A Dominus Frigidus carries a RAP of 28,059,680 across 27 copies, while the Musica Frigidus Dominator has 370 copies and asks under 200,000 Robux.
Can you trade a Musica Dominator?
Yes. All three Limited members were created by Roblox, and Roblox-created Limiteds can be traded player to player. Both accounts in the trade need an active Roblox Plus subscription, and a traded classic Limited is locked for 2 days afterwards.
How did people get the Musica Infernus Dominator?
It came from the Sound as a Bell Gift in December 2013. Roblox's item description says the gift went to users who uploaded at least five sounds before 11:59 Central on December 11th, 2013, and the hat appeared in their inventory when the gift box opened.
Why is the Musica Frigidus Dominator more expensive than the Infernus?
Supply. The Frigidus has 370 copies against the Infernus's 761, so its lowest ask sits at 179,999 Robux against 89,997. Their RAPs are within about 1,500 Robux of each other because RAP smooths an item's whole sale history and updates slowly on items that trade rarely.
Is the Musica Messor Dominator worth anything?
It has no tracked market value. Roblox's records show it as an offsale item with no Limited status and no resale price, so owners can't list it for sale. Community records put its original run at 10,000 Robux with roughly 600 purchases.
