Most UGC Limiteds never sell out at all. A UGC Limited is an avatar item made by a community creator and sold in a fixed number of copies, and once every copy is bought, the only way to get one is to buy it back off another player. In 2023, when the format launched, running out of stock was the normal outcome: 70.1% of the paid drops from that year were gone within 30 days. Of the paid drops launched in the first quarter of 2026, 6.5% did the same. The biggest change is print size. The median paid drop in 2023 offered 100 copies. The median paid drop in 2026 offers 3,000, which is the maximum Roblox allows.
Quick answer: Paid UGC Limiteds that do sell out usually do it fast, often on launch day, but most of them no longer sell out at all. Only 6.5% of paid drops launched in early 2026 cleared their stock within 30 days, against 70.1% of 2023 drops, and the median print run over that stretch grew from 100 copies to the 3,000-copy cap.
| Launch year | Paid drops tracked | Sold out within 30 days | Sold out within 180 days | Median launch price | Median stock |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2023 (from launch) | 14,396 | 70.1% | 79.2% | 240 R$ | 100 |
| 2024 | 7,026 | 50.4% | 65.3% | 135 R$ | 250 |
| 2025 | 6,974 | 12.7% | 31.6% | 95 R$ | 2,999 |
| 2026 (January to March) | 2,605 | 6.5% | 21.3% | 95 R$ | 3,000 |
Every cohort in that table is at least 180 days old, so the newer years get the same amount of time to sell as the older ones.
How long does a UGC Limited take to sell out? Most of them never do
RBX Invest tracks 155,259 UGC Limited releases from their first recorded sale onward. 35,460 of those launched at a price, and 119,799 launched free. A "drop" is just the launch window, the period when copies are still coming from the creator instead of from resellers.
Of the paid drops, 58.6% have sold out at some point in their life. Free drops clear more often, at 87.5%, which makes sense when the price is zero. Across the whole UGC Limited catalog, 26,727 items still had copies in stock as of September 22, 2026, and 154,551 had none left. You can see the live split on the UGC Limiteds still in stock and sold-out UGC Limiteds collection pages.
When a drop does sell out, it usually happens fast. Among paid drops that cleared their stock, 50.5% did it within a day of the first sale, 60.8% within a week, and 72.5% within 30 days. After that first week the pace falls off hard, and an item still sitting with copies a month later tends to keep sitting.
One honest caveat about the day counts. Roblox doesn't publish a timestamp for the moment an item runs out, so for most items we infer the sell-out date from the sales record. The share of items that have sold out is exact, because it's just a question of whether stock is left. The day counts are close estimates.
Why UGC Limiteds stopped selling out: stock went from 100 copies to 3,000
Roblox's Marketplace publishing documentation sets a hard ceiling here: "The maximum quantity for paid Limiteds is 3000, while free Limiteds do not have a quantity maximum." Free Limiteds can also be restocked after they're published, which paid ones cannot.
Look back at the table and the pattern is hard to miss. Median stock climbed from 100 copies in 2023 to 2,999 in 2025 and 3,000 in 2026, while the median launch price fell from 240 R$ to 95 R$. Creators moved from small expensive runs to big cheap ones, and most of them now print right up against the cap.
The math behind that choice is simple. A creator keeps at least 30% of each new sale made on the website, so 3,000 copies at 95 R$ pays far more than 100 copies at 240 R$ if it all sells. It usually doesn't all sell. And leftover stock holds the resale price down, because nobody pays a reseller 200 R$ for something they can still buy new for 95 R$.
That's the part worth carrying into your own buying. Stock that never runs out is the ceiling on every resale price in the item. Our guide to UGC Limited restocking rules covers the other supply trap, free items whose quantity can be topped up later.
Do expensive UGC Limiteds sell out faster? Yes, because they print fewer copies
Sorting every paid drop by its launch price shows a clean relationship, and it runs the opposite way to what most people guess.
| Launch price | Paid drops | Share that has sold out | Median stock |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 to 99 R$ | 16,359 | 44.7% | 3,000 |
| 100 to 499 R$ | 12,271 | 67.4% | 200 |
| 500 to 999 R$ | 2,829 | 74.8% | 66 |
| 1,000 R$ and up | 4,001 | 77.4% | 25 |
The expensive drops clear more reliably, and the reason sits in the last column. A creator charging 1,000 R$ prints a median of 25 copies. A creator charging under 100 R$ prints 3,000. Twenty-five buyers are easy to find on Roblox. Three thousand buyers for one accessory is a genuinely hard ask, and only a handful of creators can do it.
A cheap price tag usually comes attached to the largest supply on the platform, so treat it as a warning sign when you're buying to resell.
Does a fast sell-out mean the resale will pay? Only if the price roughly doubles
One number decides it. On a UGC Limited resale, Roblox's fees and commissions schedule splits the sale 50% to the reseller, 10% to the item's creator, 10% to the seller or affiliate, and 30% to Roblox. You keep half of whatever the buyer pays. Break-even is therefore twice your cost, and the resale floor, meaning the cheapest copy currently listed, has to sit above 2x what you paid before a flip makes you anything.
Plenty of drops sell out in hours and still never clear that bar. The Bronze Glove is the happy version, sold out on day one at 100 R$ and trading in the thousands since. The six drops below all sold out within a day of launch, listed in launch order, with their current RAP (Recent Average Price, the smoothed average of everything the item has sold for) and lowest ask.
| Item | Launched | Launch price | Copies | Days to sell out | RAP today | Lowest ask |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Apr 21, 2023 | 101 R$ | 1,001 | 0 | 1,453 R$ | 800 R$ | |
| May 10, 2023 | 100 R$ | 2,000 | 1 | 860 R$ | 999 R$ | |
| Jun 22, 2023 | 100 R$ | 1,000 | 0 | 3,733 R$ | 4,000 R$ | |
| Oct 13, 2023 | 100 R$ | 3,000 | 0 | 328 R$ | 218 R$ | |
| Feb 3, 2024 | 150 R$ | 1,500 | 0 | 162 R$ | 150 R$ | |
| May 3, 2024 | 200 R$ | 2,000 | 1 | 1,416 R$ | 1,900 R$ |
Music Valk is the cautionary row. It sold out the day it launched at 150 R$, and the cheapest copy today asks 150 R$. Sell at that price and you take home 75 R$ after the split, half of what you paid. Controller Hammer cleared 3,000 copies in a day and currently asks 218 R$ on a 100 R$ launch, which nets 109 R$, barely a tip. The other four all cleared the 2x bar comfortably, and The Bronze Glove asks 40 times its launch price today.
If you're buying drops to flip, our guide to profiting from UGC Limited drops walks through the fee math in full, and the breakdown of which creators' Limiteds hold value is the better predictor of a 2x than sell-out speed is. None of this is financial advice, and Robux you put into a drop can absolutely come back smaller.
How to tell if a UGC Limited is actually selling
Watch the copies remaining on the item page while the drop is live. A drop of 3,000 that has moved 200 copies in its first day is on pace to sit unsold for months, and every one of those unsold copies competes with you later.
Three things worth checking before you buy into a launch:
- Stock left against time elapsed. If half the run is gone in the first hour, the rest usually follows. If it's moved 5% overnight, it's a shelf item.
- Whether resale is even switched on. Creators choose this per item. An item with resale disabled can never be flipped, whatever it sells out in.
- What similar items from the same creator did. Sell-out speed repeats by creator more than it repeats by category.
Once you own copies, the reseller terminal tracks your positions and the ladder of asks below and above you, and the Deals feed flags copies listed under their recent average price, which needs a signed-in account. For a sense of what actually trades at volume, the items leaderboard ranks the whole catalog on live activity.
One timing rule catches new resellers every time. Buying at launch locks the item for up to 30 days before you can list it, and buying a copy on the resale market locks it for up to 7. The full breakdown is in our guide to Roblox Limited holding periods.
Sell-out figures, stock, launch prices, RAP and asks come from RBX Invest catalog and launch records covering 155,259 UGC Limited releases as of September 22, 2026, and the 3,000-copy cap plus the resale split come from Roblox's Marketplace documentation, checked the same day.
FAQ
How long does a UGC Limited take to sell out?
Most paid UGC Limiteds that sell out do it within a day of launch: 50.5% of paid sell-outs land inside 24 hours and 72.5% inside 30 days. The bigger answer is that most drops no longer sell out at all: only 6.5% of paid drops launched in early 2026 cleared their stock inside 30 days, compared with 70.1% of 2023 drops.
Do all UGC Limiteds sell out?
No. 58.6% of paid UGC Limiteds have sold out at some point, and 87.5% of free ones. As of September 22, 2026, 26,727 UGC Limiteds still had copies available from the creator, against 154,551 with none left.
What is the maximum number of copies a UGC Limited can have?
Roblox's Marketplace documentation caps paid Limiteds at 3,000 copies. Free Limiteds have no quantity maximum, and free items can be restocked after publishing, which is why the very large print runs you see are usually free drops.
Why do cheap UGC Limiteds take longer to sell out?
Because cheap drops print far more copies. The median drop priced under 100 R$ offers 3,000 copies and has sold out 44.7% of the time, while the median drop priced above 1,000 R$ offers 25 copies and has sold out 77.4% of the time. Finding 25 buyers is easy, finding 3,000 is not.
Can you resell a UGC Limited as soon as it sells out?
No. Reselling depends on the holding period attached to your copy. A copy bought at launch is locked for up to 30 days, and a copy bought from another reseller is locked for up to 7. Reselling also requires an active Roblox Plus subscription on the seller's account.
Does selling out make a UGC Limited valuable?
Selling out is a requirement for a strong resale price, and it doesn't finish the job by itself. You keep 50% of a UGC Limited resale, so the price has to roughly double before a flip pays. Music Valk sold out on launch day at 150 R$ and its cheapest copy still asks 150 R$, which nets a reseller 75 R$.
Can a sold-out UGC Limited be restocked?
Paid UGC Limiteds cannot be restocked once they're sold out. Roblox's restocking tool applies to free items, so a free drop that looks gone can come back with more copies. That risk is covered in detail in our guide to UGC Limited restocking rules.
Can you trade UGC Limiteds instead of reselling them?
No. Roblox's player-to-player trade system handles classic Limiteds only, so UGC Limiteds change hands purely through Marketplace resales. That's one reason their prices lean so heavily on stock and fees.
