Pending Robux from a Roblox Limited sale clears in three to seven days. The second a buyer takes your copy, your cut appears in your transaction history marked Pending, and Roblox holds it there while its fraud checks run. Roblox published that range in an October 2020 developer forum announcement: three days at the fast end, seven at the slow end, depending on how risky the sale looks to its systems. You can't speed it up, and the amount never changes while it sits there.
Quick answer: Robux from a Roblox Limited resale waits in Pending for three to seven days before it reaches your spendable balance. You keep 70% of the sale price on a classic Limited and 50% on a UGC Limited, and that figure is locked in the moment the sale goes through.
Two pieces of vocabulary first. A Limited is a Roblox catalog item with a capped number of copies, so once the original run sells out, the only way to get one is to buy it from another player. A classic Limited was made by Roblox itself; a UGC Limited was made by a community creator through the user-generated content program.
| Stage of a Limited sale | How long you wait |
|---|---|
| Holding period after buying at launch from the creator | Up to 30 days |
| Holding period after buying a resale copy | Up to 7 days |
| Holding period after a trade (classic Limiteds only) | 2 days |
| Your listing sitting on the market | As long as it takes a buyer to arrive |
| Pending, after the sale goes through | 3 to 7 days |
Why is my Robux pending after a Limited sale? Roblox is checking the sale
Pending is a waiting room. When someone buys your copy, Roblox records the transaction, subtracts the marketplace fee, and parks your share in your transaction history with a Pending label. The buyer has the item straight away. You have a number on a screen that you can't touch yet.
The reason is fraud. A holding window gives Roblox time to spot a suspicious sale and claw it back before the Robux moves anywhere. Roblox said as much when it set the current range, describing the change as a way to widen the window for catching suspicious activity and protect earnings.
Every seller goes through it, on every sale, at every price.
How long does pending Robux take? Three to seven days
Roblox's October 2020 announcement is the clearest public statement of the number. Before that change, selling an item carried a flat three-day waiting period. From October 27, 2020, the waiting period became a range of three to seven days, with the exact length depending on the risk of fraud or abuse attached to that sale. The announcement covered item sales across the platform, including user-generated items.
Plan for the full seven days and treat anything faster as a bonus. Sellers do sometimes report longer waits, especially around holidays and other busy stretches, though the published range stays at three to seven.
A second number in Roblox's documentation causes a lot of confusion. The marketplace fees page describes a 30 day escrow hold, and that one covers the commission a creator earns when somebody buys an item they made. It's a separate clock from the pending window a reseller waits on, so a creator and a reseller looking at the same item can be waiting very different lengths of time.
What actually lands in your balance? 70% on a classic, 50% on a UGC
The pending wait gets the attention, but the fee decides how much shows up at the end of it. Roblox's marketplace documentation sets the resale split for community-created Limiteds at 50% to the reseller, 10% to the original creator, 10% to the seller or affiliate (the owner of the experience, when the purchase happens inside a game) and 30% to Roblox. Classic Limiteds made by Roblox carry a 30% marketplace fee, so the seller keeps 70%.
Round numbers make it obvious. Sell a classic Limited for 100,000 Robux and 70,000 reaches your balance. Sell a UGC Limited for the same 100,000 and you get 50,000. That difference sets your break-even: about 1.43x your cost on a classic, a full 2x on a UGC.
Here are four live examples from our catalog, ordered by lowest ask, meaning the cheapest copy listed for sale right now, on September 19, 2026.
| Item | Type | Lowest ask | You keep after the fee |
|---|---|---|---|
| Classic | 15,505 R$ | about 10,853 R$ | |
| Classic | 396,699 R$ | about 277,689 R$ | |
| UGC | 555,555 R$ | about 277,777 R$ | |
| Classic | 1,799,999 R$ | about 1,259,999 R$ |
Look at the middle two rows. The Classic ROBLOX Fedora sells for 396,699 and the Smite Hammer sells for 555,555, and their sellers walk away within 88 Robux of each other. The UGC seller needs a sale roughly 40% larger to bank the same money. That gap is the single biggest thing to keep in your head when you're deciding which Limiteds to flip, meaning buy a copy now and resell it later for more. Our Roblox marketplace fees guide works through more of the math.
The typical sale is much smaller than any of those. Across RBX Invest catalog data on September 19, 2026, 2,502 classic Limiteds and 81,799 UGC Limiteds had a live resale listing. The median classic ask was 8,700 R$ and the median UGC ask was 1,000 R$. So the everyday UGC flip pays its seller 500 Robux, and those 500 Robux wait the same three to seven days as a million-Robux sale.
When does the pending clock start? Once the holding period ends
Pending is the last delay, and usually the shortest one. Before you can even list a Limited, its holding period has to finish. A holding period is a lock Roblox puts on a freshly bought item that blocks you from reselling it.
- Buy a UGC Limited at launch from the creator: up to 30 days before you can resell.
- Buy any Limited from a reseller: up to 7 days.
- Receive a classic Limited in a trade: 2 days.
That last one only exists for classic Limiteds, because UGC Limiteds can't be traded at all. The player-to-player trade system handles classic Limiteds only, so a UGC Limited changes hands through marketplace resales and nothing else.
Chain the timers together and a launch-day flip can tie up your Robux for five or six weeks: 30 days locked, however long the listing takes to sell, then up to another week pending. Our holding periods guide breaks down each lock in detail, and the step-by-step selling guide covers listing and pricing.
Can you spend pending Robux? No
Pending Robux does nothing for you. You can't spend it on a Limited, you can't send it in a trade, and it doesn't count toward your balance anywhere on Roblox. It exists as a line in your transaction history until the window closes and the number moves.
Robux from reselling also can't become real money. Roblox's marketplace documentation states that Robux acquired from trading or selling items you didn't create isn't considered earned, which makes it ineligible for the Developer Exchange program. DevEx is the program that converts earned Robux into cash for creators. Flipping Limiteds builds Robux you can trade and spend on Roblox, and it stops there. Our DevEx rates explainer covers which Robux qualifies.
What if your Robux is still pending after a week?
Check your transaction history first. The sale should be listed with its date and the amount, which tells you exactly when the clock started and whether the sale actually completed.
If it's past seven days, waiting another day or two is still the most likely fix, since the range is a range and busy periods stretch it. Past that, Roblox support is the only place that can look at an individual transaction. Nobody outside Roblox can release pending Robux, so treat any offer to unlock it for you as a scam. Our guide to Roblox trading scams covers the common versions.
How do you plan around the wait?
Keep a working balance. The traders who get caught out are the ones who list everything, spend down to zero, and then watch a deal go past while their money sits in Pending. Holding some Robux free means a good listing on the Deals feed is still buyable on the day you spot it.
Stagger your listings. If you're selling several copies, putting them all up at once means every payout clears in the same few days and then nothing arrives for two weeks. Spreading listings out gives you money landing more evenly.
Price for the fee before you list. A classic Limited bought at 20,000 needs about 28,600 to break even; a UGC Limited bought at 20,000 needs 40,000. Anything under that is a loss dressed up as a sale, and you'll wait a week to find out. The cheaper end of the market is a reasonable place to practice the timing with small amounts: browse Limiteds under 1,000 Robux or the full collections hub for price bands and item families.
None of this is financial advice. Limited prices move, sometimes hard, and Robux spent on a flip is money you might not get back.

FAQ
How long does pending Robux take after selling a Roblox Limited?
Three to seven days. Roblox set that range in an October 2020 announcement, replacing a flat three-day wait, and said the exact length depends on how risky the sale looks to its fraud systems. Plan for the full week.
Can you spend pending Robux?
No. Pending Robux can't be spent, traded or withdrawn. It sits in your transaction history as a line item and only becomes usable when the three to seven day window closes and it moves into your balance.
Why is my Robux still pending after seven days?
Usually because the wait stretched past the published range, which sellers report happening around holidays and other busy periods. Check your transaction history to confirm the sale completed and when. If it's well past a week, Roblox support is the only place that can look at an individual transaction.
How much of a Limited sale do you actually keep?
70% on a classic Limited made by Roblox, and 50% on a UGC Limited made by a community creator. On a UGC resale the rest splits 10% to the original creator, 10% to the seller or affiliate and 30% to Roblox, according to Roblox's marketplace documentation.
Do you need Roblox Plus to sell a Limited?
Yes. Reselling a Limited requires an active Roblox Plus subscription on the seller's account. The buyer needs no subscription at all, which is why anyone can buy a Limited but only subscribers can list one.
Can you turn Robux from a Limited sale into real money?
No. Roblox's marketplace documentation states that Robux from trading or selling items you didn't create isn't considered earned, so it can't go through the Developer Exchange program. It stays as Robux you can spend and trade on Roblox.
Does a bigger sale take longer to clear?
No. Roblox ties the length of the pending window to fraud and abuse risk, so a 500 Robux sale and a million Robux sale both fall in the same three to seven day range.
How long after buying a Limited can you resell it?
Up to 30 days if you bought at launch from the creator, and up to 7 days if you bought a resale copy. A classic Limited received in a trade unlocks after 2 days. The pending window only starts once that lock has expired and the item has actually sold.
